Products: R-Series Platform
Intelliden’s applications are built upon its patented and award winning R-Series® platform. The R-Series platform provides intelligent automation, standardization, and scalable device management. It serves as an abstraction layer to the underlying network by translating device information—irrespective of the vendor, type, model and operating system (VTMOS)—into XML based ‘device models’. It also acts as a control plane through which all network devices can be configured, provisioned and changed in a policy compliant manner. Through a combination of these powerful capabilities, Intelliden solutions enable network-driven organizations to control, manage and scale their networks.
Device models
Intelliden device models are a unique and patented feature of the R-Series platform. Device models are built for each combination of device VTMOS, and simplify the complexities and capabilities of disparate configuration languages into a common XML based representation. Unlike the basic script-based approach to device configuration, modeling is the basis for understanding whether a device can support a specific service, its role in the network, and how it is currently being utilized. Device models enable standardization of the multi-vendor network environment, ensure accuracy of changes through real-time state awareness, and provide greater scalability and repeatability through data-driven changes.
Real-time State Awareness
Most network facing applications make device changes on an ‘anticipatory basis’ i.e. based on a snapshot of a previously known network state. This can lead to inaccurate device changes and result in network outages, service degradation or policy breaches. However R-Series ensures that all device changes—irrespective of whether initiated by an Intelliden application or an “out-of-band’ change by a 3rd party source— are made based on the real-time state of the device configuration. This capability is fundamental to implementing accurate-first-time, every time network changes.
Intelligent Automation
Unlike the basic script based applications, R-Series leverages Intelliden device models to ensure changes based on the real-time state of the device. It also enforces correct syntax and semantics for the specific device configuration to guarantee integrity and accuracy of changes. Changes are data-driven and can be made through reusable GUI configuration templates or APIs. Together these capabilities enable intelligent automation of a dynamic, large scale heterogeneous network environment. In cases where device models may not be available, Intelliden provides the added flexibility for making devices changes in a native or “managed” mode.
Purpose-built for Large Scale Networks
Intelliden R-Series platform and applications have been designed for, and have been proven in large scale, “carrier class” network environments. These organizations depend on their networks and demand highest levels of scalability. Its distributed architecture allows R-Series to scale without limits while its sophisticated data management capabilities enable support for the largest device configurations. Through its modular architecture, Intelliden applications can be deployed in a distributed manner for global customers with stringent redundancy and resiliency requirements (e.g. disaster recovery).
Open Architecture and Standards Support
Intelliden platform and applications are built upon an open and standards-based architecture. All device information and business logic is exposed to 3rd party applications via SOAP/XML or Java-based open APIs.
Intelliden is a major proponent of the need to tame network and application complexity through greater standardization. Intelliden actively participates in various industry standards organizations, including the TeleManagement Forum and CableLabs for the development and enhancement of relevant standards. Intelliden applications are developed in accordance common industry standards (e.g. TMF NGOSS principles, ITIL framework).
Intelliden is also committed to continual innovation. Click for more information to Intelliden’s patents and intellectual property.
“Intelliden is a key vendor in the IPTV service fulfillment space. Its solution set provides Network level policy management, bandwidth management, consistent QoS across the network and dynamic rerouting in case of device failure as well as service activation capabilities, and as a result, it has played crucial roles in Tier 1 IPTV deployments”
