SUPERCOMM: Intelliden, IBM and Arbor Networks Demo Autonomic Security Solution
Solution Showcases Autonomic Detection, Eventing & Mitigation of Network Anomalies Like Denial-of-Service Attacks, Viruses and Worms
--Companies Will Demonstrate Security Solution At SUPERCOMM in IBM Booth # 26929--
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., June 21, 2004 - Intelliden Corporation, the intelligent networking company, today announced the demonstration of autonomic detection, eventing and mitigation of network anomalies, like denial-of-service attacks, at SUPERCOMM June 20-24, 2004, in Chicago at McCormick Place in the IBM booth #26929. Co-developed with IBM Autonomic Computing, IBM Tivoli and Arbor Networks, this demonstration will show how real-time network anomalies, such as distributed denial-of-service attacks, are mitigated autonomically by Intelliden configuration management; discovered by Arbor Networks; and reported through IBM Tivoli Risk Manager.
"We are delighted to add Intelliden's auto-provisioning capability to IBM's autonomic security solution for SUPERCOMM 2004. Intelliden provides the critical last step, by automating the reconfiguring of network elements to re-route the traffic and quarantine the security problem," said Alan Shepard, Program Executive, Center for Communications Solutions, IBM Software Group.
This end-to-end IP security solution can detect network traffic anomalies like distributed denial-of-service attacks, viruses and worms, while also correlating and reporting them to the security operation center (SOC). When an attack occurs, this IP security solution triggers policy-based actions to mitigate the network security attack by autonomically reconfiguring the network elements, via Intelliden configuration management, and then re-routing the traffic and quarantining the security problem.
"We are pleased to be collaborating with IBM and Arbor Networks on this important industry initiative," said Jeff Chapman, Intelliden vice president, product management. "Customers worldwide are demanding the kinds of highly secure and highly available IP networks that the Intelliden R-Series™ software suite helps create. Intelliden's extensible APIs and security capabilities, like automatically re-routing traffic in the case of a denial-of-service attack, operate successfully as a stand-alone offering, as a customer integrated solution, or in conjunction with products from Arbor Networks, IBM Tivoli and IBM autonomic computing. This flexibility enables customers to easily enhance their security and automate network recovery while reducing costs."
Intelliden's software is available via a Web-based interface, or the industry's first open and extensible APIs, which enable it to be embedded within other applications. The Intelliden R-Series software is used to automate the auditing, configuration, provisioning and security of network devices. Intelliden's software provides identification, analysis and resolution of systems and networking issues that can threaten the availability, security, provisioning and compliancy of business-critical network devices. The Intelliden R-Series software ensures business continuity via granular control of IP network devices. It notifies users, groups and other applications about device and network changes, while also identifying who did what to the network-where, when and why.
SUPERCOMM attendees wishing to see this IP security solutions demo should stop by IBM at booth #26929 in McCormick Place. Intelliden will also have its own booth, #13312, in North Hall B.
