TELUS Corporation Selects Intelliden for CPE Service Activation
--Multi-Year, Multi-Million Dollar Agreement Will Speed Service Activation and Reduce Costs for Business Customers--
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., June 8, 2004-Intelliden Corporation, the intelligent networking company, and TELUS Corporation, Canada's second-largest telecommunications carrier, today announced that TELUS has licensed the Intelliden R-Series™ software suite for nationwide IP network service activation and configuration management as part of a multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement.
TELUS will utilize the Intelliden R-Series software to improve the operational efficiencies related to providing IP services to their business and consumer customers. Intelliden's Configuration and Management™ engine will enable TELUS to reduce service-delivery cycle time while ensuring automated, accurate and cost-effective network configuration.
"After lab trials and evaluations, Intelliden was chosen for configuration management and device activation for IP routers. They have a unique configuration and activation solution that will meet our current and future needs and can scale to handle the large and complex configuration volumes that we need to manage," said Brian Lakey, Manager, NG systems, TELUS. "By leveraging the Intelliden R-Series solution, we will add a critical layer of automation to the provisioning and configuration of our new service offerings and existing operations. Via their XML device modeling approach, Intelliden gives us a common data plane and complete understanding and control of device configuration. This in turn will allow TELUS to roll out new services, improve standardization and ultimately customer satisfaction, as well as reduce operating expenses and errors."
The Intelliden R-Series Configuration and Provisioning pillars automate complex service provisioning processes and reduce the time to market for new services from months to hours. Customers can quickly define, configure and activate new services by translating service orders into specific network changes. The Intelliden standards-based API integrates with back-office systems to offer automated, flow-through service provisioning that eliminates manual processes while making service activation functions simple, repeatable and efficient.
"As the largest telecommunications company in Western Canada and the second largest in Canada, TELUS is leveraging the Intelliden R-Series to deliver the power of the Internet in innovative ways to Canadians at home, in the workplace and on the move," said Chris Turner, Intelliden vice president, sales and support. "We look forward to working with TELUS as they continue building faster, more efficient and convergent solutions for its customers."
