IBM and Intelliden Join Forces on OPAL Initiative

--Intelliden's Workflows and Open & Extensible APIs Will Help Automate IT Environments Worldwide--

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., June 1, 2004- Intelliden Corporation, the intelligent networking company, today announced it will join IBM's Orchestration and Provisioning Automation Library (OPAL) initiative to develop IT service management workflows for its R-Series software suite. Intelliden's workflows and open APIs, when used stand-alone or with IBM Tivoli orchestration and provisioning software, will help automate processes dealing with service activation, network security and network configuration management.

"The work being done by IBM and Intelliden through OPAL is indicative of the industry's move toward a more automated, more efficient IT model," said Sandy Carter, vice president of marketing, IBM Tivoli Software. "Intelliden is a vital part of our on demand automation strategy to help customers cut costs and streamline their IT operations."

Intelliden's software is available via a Web-based graphical user interface (GUI), or the industry's first open and extensible APIs, which enable it to be embedded within other applications. These open APIs allow government agencies to share and reuse logical and physical network configuration, security and service information. The Intelliden R-Series™ software provides seamless identification, analysis and resolution of systems and networking issues that can threaten the availability, security, provisioning and compliancy of strategic IP networks.

"Our partnership with IBM provides customers with integrated, on-demand offerings that further align IT and business priorities," said Chris Turner, Intelliden vice president, sales and support. "When organizations link their business policies with their network and IT resources, the network is able to support dynamic customer requirements in real time, while also helping their business operate more efficiently and profitably. Intelliden's extensible APIs and workflow capabilities operate successfully as stand-alone and in conjunction with IBM's OPAL initiative. This flexibility enables customers to automate the configuration, auditing, provisioning and security of their mission-critical data networks."
