Intelliden Blueprints On-Demand, Adaptive Networking Vision At COMDEX
--Four Pillars of Intelliden R-Series Provide the Foundation to Help Business and Government
Maximize IT and Network Resources--
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Nov. 28, 2003 - Intelliden Corporation, the intelligent networking company, provided its blueprint for on-demand, adaptive networking at last week’s COMDEX event in Las Vegas. Jeff Chapman, Intelliden vice president of product management, outlined concrete steps that organizations can take to make the network a profit center instead of a cost center.
Chapman’s discussion summarized the four components of on-demand, adaptive networking: Self-Configuring, the dynamic provisioning and configuration of millions of manual router, switch, firewall and optical commands; Self-Healing, the detection of improper network operations and the initiation of corrective action without disrupting systems, applications or computing resources; Self-Optimizing, the automatic optimization of network resource utilization in unison with system and computing resources and business policies; and Self-Protecting, the policy-based security that automatically detects and responds to hostile behavior.
“The bottom line is that organizations can’t have on-demand, adaptive computing without on-demand, adaptive networking. The network is the foundation for connecting all the applications and data,” stated Chapman. “Intelliden is seeing customer ROI in the six-month range. When organizations link their business policies with the network and IT resources, the network is able to support dynamic customer requirements in real time, while also helping the business operate more efficiently and profitably.”
Chapman also noted that the five stages of the networking software revolution—configuration management, workflow management, device management and intelligent networking—were all necessary successive steps to achieve full on-demand, adaptive networking, which supports personalized network services across multivendor networks.
With both an on-demand, adaptive networking architecture and workflow manager in place, Intelliden has modularized its software suite into four product pillars: Auditing and Reporting; Configuration and Control; Provisioning and Activation; and Security Management.
Enterprises, government organizations and service providers worldwide benefit from the Intelliden R-Series™ software suite’s ability to provide rapid identification, analysis and resolution of networking issues that can threaten the availability, security, provisioning and compliance of business-critical network devices. The Intelliden R-Series ensures business continuity via granular control of IP network devices. It notifies users and other applications about device and network changes, while also identifying who did what to the network—when, where and why. Intelliden’s software can also be used to intelligently and automatically roll back a network device to the best previously known network state. Customers can also leverage the Intelliden R-Series OS upgrade manager for management and control of the device OS upgrade process.
