Intelliden Awarded Patent over Dynamic Configuration of Network Devices
Technology covers dynamic Quality of Service (QoS) and bandwidth optimization essential to scale the delivery of services over IP Networks
MENLO PARK, Calif.-January 9, 2007 - Intelliden, a leading provider of Intelligent Networking solutions that enable organizations to control, manage and scale their networks, has been awarded a U.S. patent addressing the "Dynamic Configuration of Network Devices". The patented technology enables dynamic allocation of IP network resources and bandwidth management to scale the delivery of next generation services such as IPTV, video-on-demand (VoD), gaming, VOIP, and other services.

Intelliden's U.S. patent (#7,054,946) describes technology for dynamic configuration of network devices to enable data transfers. The patent details a system and method for optimizing the use of network resources by dynamically configuring the resources, based on policy-based priority data handling features, in response to a request.
"The ability to scale the delivery of rich media services as traffic growth saturates data networks requires dynamic management of resources and bandwidth," said Glen Tindal, CTO of Intelliden. "As bandwidth-hungry services grow and consume available network capacity, communications service providers (CSPs) must be able to reallocate resources and bandwidth automatically and in real-time. This patent addresses the key technology necessary to effectively and efficiently allocate and optimize network resources. This will in turn enable the CSPs to differentiate and deliver services based on committed service level agreements, guaranteed bandwidth and QoS."
