Intelliden Increases Government Focus with Executive Appointment

--Sygate and Micromuse Veteran Named Managing Director of Government Sales--

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Aug. 19, 2004 - Intelliden Corporation, the intelligent networking company, today expanded its commitment to the government sector by announcing the appointment of Rick Knapp as Managing Director of Intelliden Government Sales. This move further positions Intelliden as the leading provider of automated, secure and cost-effective intelligent networking solutions for government agencies.

During the past six months Intelliden has won several large government contracts, signed multiple government channel partners and deployed successful networking strategies with key federal agencies. Knapp will further accelerate Intelliden's government sector growth by leveraging his 20 years of government sales experience to showcase how the Intelliden R-Series® software suite makes networks more automated, secure and efficient by dynamically responding to strategic federal priorities.

"We're pleased to have Rick join Intelliden and lead government sales through its next evolution of growth," said Chris Turner, Intelliden vice president, sales and support. "Our proven track record, combined with Rick's experience, means that government customers will be able to quickly leverage the Intelliden R-Series software to build the kinds of highly secure, highly efficient and highly available IP networks that they need."

Prior to joining Intelliden, Knapp was a successful sales executive at Sygate Technologies, Inc. where he led the creation of its federal sales program in each Sygate territory and Canada. Prior to that, he was the federal sales manager at Micromuse, launching its federal sales program.

"I'm very excited to join the Intelliden team," said Knapp. By utilizing the embedded intelligence of the Intelliden R-Series, government agencies can enhance their productivity, improve security, automate network configuration management and reduce costs.

Intelliden's software is available via a Web-based graphical user interface (GUI), or the industry's first open and extensible application programming interfaces (APIs), which enable it to be embedded within other applications. These open APIs allow government agencies to share and reuse logical and physical network configuration, security and service information. The Intelliden R-Series software provides seamless identification, analysis and resolution of systems and networking issues that can threaten the availability, security, provisioning and compliancy of strategic IP networks.
