The Boeing Company Licenses Intelliden R-Series for Next-Generation Intranet Prototype
--Intelliden Software Will Reduce Costs and Provide More Secure Network Access--
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., March 16, 2004 - Intelliden Corporation, the intelligent networking company, today announced that The Boeing Company, the world's largest producer of commercial jetliners, military aircraft and satellites, has licensed the Intelliden R-Series™ software solution for a prototype of its next-generation intranet.
The Intelliden R-Series software will provide Boeing with configuration and control software for securely and reliably connecting the company's 156,000 employees in the United States and 70 countries with Boeing's next-generation enterprise intranet, data repositories and 6,500 suppliers worldwide.
The Intelliden R-Series software suite uses business policies to manage changes in the network. It enables Boeing to define business rules that govern how a configuration is constructed and how changes are verified, approved, installed and deployed. Additionally, it provides Boeing with the flexibility to define different business rules to match the specific ways that various parts of the company access the intranet.
"We are excited to be working with The Boeing Company," said Chris Turner, Intelliden vice president of sales and support. "The Intelliden R-Series is the only configuration and security management solution that can handle the massive volumes and policy enablement required to support a network of 156,000 employees in 70 countries around the world. The Boeing Company needed a highly scalable, policy-based, reliable software application that would reduce their costs, while improving their security and mobility on a next-generation network. The Intelliden R-Series does that."
Boeing will also deploy the Intelliden R-Series software to support wireless roaming and VoIP capabilities while also securing IP packets based on the host identity. The Intelliden R-Series Security Management™ solution will be deployed at key network enforcement points to protect Boeing data and reconfigure the underlying network infrastructure using Intelliden's network policy features to enforce security and access.
The Intelliden R-Series solution provides seamless identification, analysis and resolution of systems and networking issues that can threaten the availability, security, provisioning and compliancy of Boeing's business-critical intranet. The Intelliden R-Series software ensures business continuity via granular control of IP network devices. It notifies users, groups and other applications about device and network changes, while also identifying who did what to the network-where, when and why. Boeing can also leverage Intelliden's software to intelligently and automatically roll back a network device to the best previously known network state.
