Intelliden Unveils Strategic On-Demand Networking Vision to Help Business and Government Derive More Value From IT and Network Investments
--Vision Backed by Software, Solutions, Partners, and Customers--
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Sept. 16, 2003 - Intelliden Corporation, the intelligent networking company, today unveiled a sweeping strategic vision under which Intelliden is delivering a wide array of branded Internet Protocol (IP) networking solutions to enterprises, government organizations and service providers.
Two months after receiving 2.5 million in additional financing, the company unveiled new product pillars, bundled customer solutions, a long-term product roadmap and an on-demand networking reference architecture designed to help companies and government organizations better align IT and network resources with their business priorities.
“Intelliden has stepped up to become a leading provider of intelligent networking solutions. They are delivering on a well-thought out plan and vision,” said Mike Jude, Research Director, Enterprise Management Associates. “Overall, Intelliden has four key virtues: a compelling vision of the networking future; four product pillars with features that resonate with C-level executives; integration with leading network management vendors that improves the efficacy of every enterprise’s network monitoring function; and software that offers complete control at the device, network and management levels. This is a powerful combination that can reduce an enterprise’s operational costs and increase security while positioning them for future growth.”
On-demand networking is the ability of a network to self-configure, self-heal, self-optimize and self-protect. Enterprises, government organizations and service providers want networks that are fully automated, managed with business policies, highly secure, scalable, cost effective and built on standards. Intelliden’s on-demand networking vision delivers all of these features and more.
“Intelliden has more than 150 combined years of IP networking expertise. We’ve learned a lot from our own experiences and from our customer conversations about the important role that IP networks play in accelerating their business objectives,” said Dale Hecht, Intelliden president and CEO. “Over the course of the last three years we’ve listened to our customers, added our own IP networking insights and responded with products and solutions that further integrate IT and network resources with business priorities. This sets the stage for on-demand networking.”
In support of Intelliden’s long-term vision, Hecht and the rest of Intelliden’s founding team—John Gerdelman, chairman; Kevin Burns, chief marketing and business development officer; John Strassner, chief strategy officer; and Glen Tindal, chief technology officer—communicated the following:
• Four intelligent networking product pillars—managing more than 5.6 million unique commands across a combination of 360 device models and operating systems, and allowing customers to simply and easily align their network and IT resources with business priorities—have been incorporated into the latest version of Intelliden’s software solution.
• The Intelliden R-Series™ software suite has been successfully integrated with IBM Tivoli NetView and certified as Ready for IBM Tivoli. With this certification, IBM Tivoli’s customers can confidently and easily deploy Intelliden software solutions within their federal, enterprise, and service provider environments to achieve greater network control, security, and optimization across their IP infrastructure.
• Intelliden has developed industry-specific solutions that address critical customer pain points including compliancy, HIPAA, network security, network availability, service activation and business transformation. These solutions are supported by case studies that describe how multiple customers and industries are leveraging the Intelliden R-Series solutions to transform their businesses.
• Intelliden has also designed an on-demand networking reference architecture that leverages autonomic principles and industry standards to create the framework for on-demand networking.
• Intelliden has created a strategic partner program designed to deliver the benefits of on-demand networking to customers worldwide. Strategic partners include IBM and Cisco.
• Intelliden unveiled its on-demand networking laboratory in Colorado Springs where customers can visit directly or gain access through a secure virtual private network (VPN).
The Intelliden R-Series software suite provides rapid identification, analysis and resolution of networking issues that can threaten the availability, security, provisioning and compliancy of business-critical network devices. The Intelliden R-Series software suite ensures business continuity via granular control of IP network devices. It notifies users, groups and other applications about device and network changes, while also identifying who did what to the network—where, when and why. Intelliden’s software can also be used to intelligently and automatically roll back a network device to the best previously known network state.
