Intelliden Corporation Outlines Business-Driven Device Management At NetWorld + Interop 2002
--Company’s Chief Strategy Officer Addresses How Policy-Based Management Transforms Networks From Cost Centers to Profit Centers in Presentation; Business-Driven Device Management White Paper Also Available Today--
LAS VEGAS, May 9, 2002 - Intelliden Corporation, a leading provider of business-driven device management solutions, will discuss at NetWorld + Interop 2002 how a network can move from a cost center to a revenue center through business-driven device management. John Strassner, Intelliden chief strategy officer, is leading a tutorial on the subject today and tomorrow at the six-day conference, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Intelliden has captured the heart of this presentation in a white paper entitled, “The Business Case for Business-Driven Device Management™,” which today is available on the Intelliden Web site, www.intelliden.com. The white paper describes how device management becomes business-driven when it ties business policies and rules to both changes in the network and the procedures used to make those changes.
“Today’s networks face an infrastructure crisis as millions of devices are configured manually, one at a time,” said Dale Hecht, Intelliden president and CEO. “Business-driven device management automates this process and enables a company’s business policies to drive the management and configuration of its routers and LAN switches. This increases operational efficiency, improves network optimization and generates higher margins.”
Strassner, a former Cisco Fellow and inventor of Directory Enabled Networks (DEN), is one of the industry leaders invited to define the future of networking at NetWorld + Interop. In his two-day tutorial, Strassner will detail for attendees how business-driven device management brings together three of today’s most important networking technologies – Policy, DEN-ng (DEN-next generation) and Quality of Service (QoS) – to create an integrated, policy-based system. He will also demonstrate how standards-based, modeling solutions are overcoming today’s network infrastructure crisis, which has been driven by the continual doubling of Internet traffic, millions of network devices and the added complexity of device configuration.
