Intelliden Demonstrates MPLS VPN Service Automation at TeleManagement World Nice
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., May 16, 2005 - Intelliden Inc., the intelligent networking company, today announced that the lack of network automation has created an 'activation blind spot' that is impeding the revenue growth of the world's communications service providers.
At TeleManagement World held May 17-19 in Nice, France, Intelliden will demonstrate its MPLS VPN approach, which enables service providers to automatically align their business priorities with their network resources in order to remove their activation blind spot. Intelliden will be in Booth #131 at the Acropolis Convention Center.
Historically, these carriers have only linked their service activation strategy with their network engineering process through a series of manual, error-prone steps. Without Intelliden's model-driven MPLS VPN service automation approach, communications service providers may suffer from the activation blind spot with symptoms including:
• Up to 70% of their manual service provisioning tasks fail the first time around
• Up to 45% of a senior network engineer's time is spent manually configuring a service
• Up to 30% of service order fulfillment is spent in network engineering
"The move to embrace IP services is forcing mobile operators and telecommunications carriers to align their business strategy with their operational support systems (OSSs)," said Sanjay Mewada, Yankee Group Vice President, Telecom Software Strategies. "Without an automated OSS, communications service providers cannot competitively offer the advanced services that hold the key to their profitability and expansion. There is a real market need for holistic and automated management of the entire device configuration, which helps speed the end-to-end automation of today's IP-focused service activation environment."
The Intelliden MPLS VPN demonstration provides instant service management control of MPLS VPNs. Network operators can easily activate and provision heterogeneous IP services and migrate their Frame Relay, ATM and Layer 2 traffic onto one consolidated MPLS VPN core.
"Most telcos and mobile operators have invested heavily in MPLS-based IP networks with the promise of advanced services, including 3G, designed to deliver new revenues," said Ravi Pather, Intelliden vice president, EMEA. "Intelliden enables them to unlock the potential of these next-generation services by providing an OSS system where automation is both integral and completely aligned with the business strategy."
