Government Defense Agency Deploys the Intelliden R-Series Software to Accelerate Convergence of Ethernet and IP Networks Across Extreme Networks Devices
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., April 20, 2005 - Intelliden Corporation, the intelligent networking company, today announced support for the Extreme Networks family of networking products. A United States Defense Agency is the first Intelliden customer to deploy the Intelliden R-Series® software to manage its Extreme Networks installation and accelerate the convergence of its Ethernet and IP networks.
Converged Ethernet and IP networks-which enable voice, data and video to share the same infrastructure-are quickly becoming a reality at leading enterprises, government agencies and service providers around the world. The Intelliden R-Series award-winning software suite enables network managers to provide these complex converged services in a secure, reliable, scalable and automated fashion. Intelliden's software will help Extreme Networks deliver a diverse mix of converged applications and services to customers in a simplified and straightforward manner.
"We're big believers in the coming converged network revolution and are pleased to be providing solutions for key vendors in the network industry such as Extreme Networks," said Chris Turner, Intelliden vice president of sales. "Intelliden provides technology that automates some of the key operational challenges facing enterprises, government agencies and service providers as converged applications make their way deeper into the network infrastructure. Our solution enables Extreme Networks' customers to dynamically link their business priorities-like compliance or service activation-with their converged network in order to automatically respond to changing business needs. This level of automation and business agility is a powerful differentiator for customers and for Extreme Networks and Intelliden."
"As the vision of the dynamic enterprise continues its path to realization, all manual processes involved in the delivery of real-time converged network services will need to be automated," said Rich Ptak, partner at Ptak, Noel & Associates, a leading IT analyst firm. "The Intelliden R-Series can automate key components of the dynamic enterprise for Extreme Networks customers including compliance, configuration, provisioning and security. That's an important milestone on the road to real-time convergence networking."
The Intelliden R-Series multi-vendor software solution is available via a client-based user interface or the industry's first open and extensible APIs, which enable it to be embedded within other applications. These open APIs allow companies and organizations to share and reuse logical and physical network configuration, network security and service activation information. The Intelliden R-Series software provides seamless identification, analysis and resolution of systems and networking issues that can threaten the network configuration, network provisioning, network security and network compliance of strategic IP networks.
